Education
The infrastructure of educational establishments comprises 9 secondary and 5 base schools (eight-year education), 5 educational-pedagogical complexes “kindergarten-school”, one learning and practice facility, one children’s physical training club and two houses of children’s arts.
There are 395 teachers working in the educational sphere in the region with 63 per cent of them having university diplomas. The number of students is 2,347 with 567 – pre-school children.
Since September 1, 2005 Bragin secondary school has had a gymnasium class.
Five schools of the region are cooperating with the international organization “A Sprout of Life” in the program “An Equal Teaches an Equal” learning the impact of radiation on the natural environment.
Another group of schools: Komarin, Mikulichi, Maleiki and Bragin are carrying out research in line with the program “Practical Radiology” and “Radiological Standards”.
On September 1, 2004 a center of special education was opened in kindergarten #1 in Bragin. The Asarevichi educational and pedagogical complex “kindergarten-base school” opened an asylum for temporary staying of children from the disadvantaged families.
