MINSK, 14 March (BelTA) – Belarus’ Permanent Representative to the United Nations Andrei Dapkiunas met with President of the General Assembly of the United Nations Mogens Lykketoft at the UN headquarters on 11 March 2016 to discuss the progress in the preparation of a number of upcoming General Assembly events, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Minsitry of Foreign Affairs.

Belarus and the Council of Europe are mapping out ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA after a meeting between Permanent Representative of Belarus to the European Union, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Belgium Andrei Yevdochenko and Italian MP and PACE rapporteur on Belarus Andrea Rigoni that took place on 2 March.

Belarus and Russia are set to continue strengthening bilateral cooperation in all fields. The agreement was reached during the meeting between Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Russia President Vladimir Putin in Sochi on 5 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

Belarusian agribusiness operators, who will carry out projects outlined by the government program on agribusiness development in Belarus in 2016-2020, will get state support in the form of preferential loans. The Belarusian air carrier Belavia has signed an interline agreement (an agreement on mutual recognition of e-tickets) with Russia's Ural Airlines, Igor Cherginets, Belavia's Deputy Director General for Marketing and Foreign Economic Affairs, said on Facebook, BelTA informs.
